This is a game called O-kami for the playstation 2. The name of the game is a play on words because in Japanese Kami can refer to a wolf or a god, and the main character of this game is a wolf-god.
Anyway, the game is absolutely beautiful. It’s done in an Ink and wash (sumi-e)-like style and the art is beautiful. The funny thing is the art for the game ended up this way after the company making the game (Clover Studios, link is Japanese only) realized that the PS2 couldn’t handle the realistic graphics they were originally aiming for. A lucky break for them I’d say, it looks a million times better this way.
There is a comparison video of the opening of the game in the original art-style the game was made in and the new art style here.
Here’s a bunch of flash videos of the game, but the quality isn’t the best. I highly recommend visiting the game’s site. The site is only in Japanese but I made a quick translation of the main menu (almost everything on the site is clickable though, click the animals and stuff and look around). Once you go to one of the sections with videos or images there is usually a play button below or inside the video and arrows to select the next image/video.
I don’t have time to translate the entire site (and wouldn’t without getting paid for it!), but hopefully this will let some of you enjoy the huge amount of content hidden within the Japanese site which can be found at http://www.o-kami.jp/

I may just have to dust off my playstation 2 for this… English version is coming out later this year and being released by CAPCOM. I hear they have done a good job on the translation (I wasn’t involved, but I wish I was, feel free to call me next time CAPCOM!).
Videos after the jump…
