I don’t normally bother with blog memes or quizzes and such but I thought this one was funny.

Pegged me dead on.

What American accent do you have? Your Result: Philadelphia Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you’re not from Philadelphia, then you’re from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you’ve ever journeyed to some far off place where people don’t know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn’t have a clue what accent it was they heard.

I took that same quiz and it said I had a Boston accent. I thought it was funny given that I have lived my entire life in Southern California. I’ve never even been to Boston. I think my accent is much closer to Midland accent.

Yeah, it seems to be a bit light on accent info for the other side of the states. I can’t imagine a single “West” category covering everything from Southern Cali to say the pacific northwest.
